So i plugged the parallel plug of the LCD into my laptop but it wouldn't show on the projector. The parallel plug had the two side knots but on the W7J it doesn't have the two side knots so it couldn't really plug in tightly. How do i get my laptop to work with the LCD for a presentation? Is there any add on that i could buy that would convert the plug into a different type? HELP!!
You know how in the old laptop models the plug for the LCD would have the two side knots for the screw.. but the newer W7J only has the plug but no knots..so it couldnt really work...
(sorry if my question is a bit confusing.. i don't really know how to explain the thing but im trying my best!!)

Yes i did. I HAVE used other laptops on the LCD and it works fine but it just doesn't work on my new W7J because of the plug!!

Ok, I think i know what your trying to do.
Your trying to use a projector with your W7J, and your using the VGA port (monitor port) and it is not working?
Yes your correct that the W7J does not have those screw holder like the one on a desktop GPU, and it should matter whether you screw it in or not, the VGA port should work.
Double check whether your VGA port is working, take your CRT or LCD and plug it into your VGA port on the W7J and make the necessary settings chagnes and see it works.
If it works then take it back to the projector and try it again.
I personaly don't screw in my CRT VGA cable to my desktop GPU because it unscrews my knots on my GPU and I don't like that. Without screws it make it fast and easy to use, plus it is quite stable, but not as stable compared to screwing it in, but i don't mind. -
i'm so happy that you actually get what i'm trying to say. Thank you for the solution!!! i'll give it a try.

Yeah, you're going to need to make sure there's video going out to that port first...... You can try two things.
1. Click the "Fn" + "F8" key which will switch between just LCD and LCD and the vga out.
2. In the display settings, make sure you have the dual display set up with the proper res.
