This is weird I have my C90 and I am done with Vista for now. I want to install XP like I have done a thousand times before On my desktop. I pop in my disk boot from it and then before too long I get a screen that says update your bios or disable shaders in the bios menu. Well this scared me so I poped out the disk. All of the other times I have installed XP I never got this message. Is it because it is a desktop disk not a laptop one? Im lost my bios should be 801 its pretty new. Any ideas should I buy a new XP disk if so does any one know a good site to get it from?

the only thing required toi install xp on c90s is a good disk. if you have a HACK COPY THAT is probably your issue. either get a real disk or get a better hack

I have to agree, best statement ever. Are you using a Dell or HP install disk? If your using a legit disk and key (or you just have a legit key) you can get the right disk for it by going to say PC Club and just showing them your key sticker. There are 8 major versions of Windows XP SP2 out there each requiring a matching key unlike Vista which can be installed off any Vista disk. They are Windows XP Home Retail, Home Upgrade, Home OEM, Professional Retail, Professional Upgrade, Professional OEM, Media Center Edition OEM and Volume License Copy (aka Corporate, which will not have a sticker and is probably illegal for you to have). Just look on the name of the sticker and either go to a friendly dealer who will burn you a copy of the disk with proof of a sticker or find to matching iso on a torrent or other site (this is probably a no, no). Activation isn't a big deal either, MS is very friendly as long as you have a good excuse or its not active on a dozen different systems.

This is if the disk is broken, other wise there might be something else since I've never come across this error. Might just wanna try a quick google.

Meh, when I still worked at PC Club as long as they could show us the sticker on the computer we would give them a CD (didn't matter what computer they put it on after that since it meant that the Dell or HP copy of Windows could now be transfered to just about any computer, not to give ideas to anyone here).

In about 3 months I will have both 32 bit and 64 bit uber Vista install disk (right now I only have a 32 bit on and I don't wanna spend the money to buy a 64 bit one, then with SP1 I can just make my own).

OEM is one that's not packaged for retail..sorta like the ones that comes with the stock computers so its relatively cheaper :D
If I were you I would get XP Pro..
