    Hello everybody,

I have had this problem for a while now but haven't bothered asking here (it's easily solved). The problems is that when I leave my laptop charging for a long time (on a external power source without using it). I can't start it anymore when not plugged in. The only way to start it is to plug it in (kind of hard when there are no sockets near) or to wait an hour until the battery has discharged just a tad bit.
It seems that when the battery is charged to the fullest, the laptop sees it as being empty. Calibrating it doesn't help (tried that already). I hope there's a solution for this without having to send it in. Has anyone encountered this problem too.

    thanks

Doesn't make any sense.... so there may be a problem and you should call Asus and have them look at it.

... Your system is off when this happens? Or are you leaving it on and it goes into standby or hibernate overnight?

Yeah, I know it really doesn't make sense :)
System is off when it happens, sometimes I just leave it plugged in at night. Next morning I can't start it on battery-power.
I'll try calling Asus, see what they'll say. Hope I don't have to send it in (they should just send me another battery :D )

But it is charging? The battery is sitting at 100% I would assume in the morning... if it were charging all evening, it would probably stop after an hour or two once the unit was fully charged... I'm not so sure it's the battery though, although I guess it could be and hope that's the only issue.
