First you need to unistall your previous drivers. For that use Driver Sweeper because the windows will not unistall fully your drivers. I would suggest the 2.00 beta 2 version, the 1.5.5 version is not working for me.

Then you can install your drivers. I hope this helps

Download 9.3 driver only , Mobility Modder it, then copy the inf from the zip below into the "\ATI\Support\9_3_vista32_win7_32_dd\Packages\Drivers\Display\LH_INF\" directory and overwrite the existing file.

You have to install with the have disk method , dont just run the setup file. and select 3870 as your card.

    I got a 231 point jump from stock drivers on my 3650 , in 3dmark06demo at 1280x800

I have not found a fix for the catalyst control panel yet, if anybody can help!

EDIT : make certain you remove all traces or the old ATI driver and catalyst use the built in uninstall then, with driver sweeper , do it a couple of times before and after re-boot, also check for ATI directory in program files and delete it manualy if it is there, or the new driver will not work.

thanks to e-wrecked for the modded inf

    Don't work this :(

    What i do:
    - uninstall asus drivers
    - run driver sweeper
    - unzip 9.3 driver
    - mod drivers by MM
    - put file from zip ( Tinderbox zip file ) to right catalog
    - go to device manager and search new drivers for standard video card ( this method don't work ), so version two:

    - run setup from modded drivers - don't work too :(

So what i'm doing wrong ?

You have to tell device manger to look in this directory "\ATI\Support\9_3_vista32_win7_32_dd\Packages\Drivers\Display\LH_INF\" and select the modded file.

    have disk procedure below.

    1. Download the display driver from ATI here.
    2. Double-click the installer and let the installation fail - all we needed to do was extract the files.
    3. Go into the Device Manager and expand the Display Adapters by clicking the "+" sign. Right-click on your adapter (there should only be one) and click "Update Driver Software." Install the driver of your choice and do not let Windows search for it. Click "Have Disk" and go into the folder where the drivers were extracted - the default location is C:\ATI\Support\[driver name - something like "7-1_xp_dd_40211"]2KXP_INF.
    4. Choose the "_CX" .INF file and click OK.

    5. Scroll down and find your graphics card.
    6. Finish the installation by following the wizard.

    Hehe it's works :)

Now i "have" 3870 ati card. After drivers change:

    - better 3d06 about 200 points
    - vista index from 4.8 to 4.7
    - gtaIV works better ;)

Hi, I Have also problem with ASUS M51VA. I got TV (sharp Aquos) and HDMI cable. I tried to connect, but nothing happened, because of HDCP support on ASUS (got info that you fom frined, that I need HDCP support on both endings of the cable). TV 37x20E supports HDCP, but I've found info on ASUS forum that I simply need newer drivers (last are from 2008).

Im going to try with modding the 3600 Desktop drivers from ati. Will it help? How do you think?

@ Malikus --> do you have posiibility to check the HDMI connection?

HDCP requires WHQL drivers. When you mod them, the digital signature becomes void.

So, what options do I have? Simply wait for ASUS to update official drivers for 3650? What else? Can I recertify this modded driver? How to connect my notebook to my sharp?

    Ok, thx.

Is this problem with HDMI and M51VA or with all ASUS product? Does anyone had success with spamming producent with upgrading their drivers? I dont know if to spam them too, or to sell this M51 and buy something that I can use to connect to TV via HDMI.

    Hi,

    Mail from Asus Support:

First of all, please try to update your drivers (uninstall the old ones, then install newer), you can download them from here:

    http://dlsvr04.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Drivers/VGA/ATI/ATI_M98_Vista_090217.zip

Generally, ATI have sometimes problems with HDCP protection, but in this case that could be conflict with TV. It is quite complicated. So please contact with your TV producent. They should have some info about working their TVs with ATI.

Those drivers are for 3850 Mobility --> they are certified, but for me, they did not help me :((

Now I need to contact Sharp Support - to check ATI-Aquos compatibility.

    Answer from Sharp:

Conformity HDMI Standards: LCD TVs X20 Series use HDMI 1.3 version, so please use only this cable. Your notebook should properly work with 1.2 Standard.
    So please check also:
    1. Drivers --> are there from ASUS or from ATI? (should be from ATI for best compatibility)
    2. HDMI cable is not hot-plug. when connecting to switched on TV or on working notebook you can simply crach the HDMI ports.
    3. Please check also the connector point --> connect via cable other HDMI compatible devices such as DVD etc.

that was their answer. All works fine, but not when connecting notebook, after giving them that info they dont answered...

So, no solution, or ASUS compatibility is to 1.2 standard HDMI. That I must check (the cable 1.3, TV also, so maybe notebook is compatible with 1.2? Hope not.)

After all checking: 1.2 vs 1.3 is only option. I dont know what to do next...

Are you using HDMI to connect to your Sharp TV , if so you might need a special HDMI driver from the Asus website.

I just connected my notebook to my Panasonic 32" TV though HDMI, and the Picture and sound work fine with catalyst 9.5 , Toshiba has software called "HDMI Control Manager" , you should have something similar for your Asus.

I had a look on the Asus website and couldn't find anything , does the HDMI work with the Asus supplied display driver, if it does the HDMI control could be integrated.
