Hi guys, mabye some of you could help me with a problem. I'm from Canada, and refuse to pay the stupid Duty tax. So I'm stuck looking for an Asus C90 from a Canadian reseller. Does anybody know where I can get a C90 from in Canada? preferably customizable too. customziable? Worst-case scenario, would the G1's or G2's or whatever be a good substitute? are they good for games and whatnot? I've heard that the C90's are better than the G's for...stuff. Is that true? Aw man, any help you guys can provide would be awsome and appreciated, it really sucks having to shop Canadian...just too limited.

infonec.com is located in Markham, Mississauga, and close to the heart of Toronto. They have the best prices I believe. You have to go to one of their shops and order it.

There might be more resellers who carry the C90s in the Asus Notebook FAQ(look under the 1i. How do I buy-there is a list of resellers from the Alberta, Ontario and BC)

unless you get your c90 with a 8600gt 256mb gddr3 gpu then the g1s or g2s will be better at gaming. make sure the reseller offers this card

GDDR3 isn't out yet in Canada.

Are you sure to pay a duty one? or only brokerage + GST.

Because at the $worth, even with brokerage + GST you'd save $100-200, if not more.

Just for the VGA, Price + Shipping + GST is already LESS than only the price of a Canadian one.

Excaliberpc offers USPS shipping, so brokerage fees are only $5, rather than $70 you'd pay with FEDEX/UPS

Thanks for all the replies guys :D but unfortunately yeah, there are duties on pretty much all imports that aren't made in the USA. I can't seem to find a concrete number, although I've heard about duties being anywhere between 15%-30% on computers...and that's just too high for a $2500 laptop. If GDDR3 isn't out yet for the C90's I'll probably go with a 17" G-series. I only have to find a place in Canada that custom builds...

Or you can just wait a bit, or just order the VGA in the US (well yeah, mighta be expensive, but will still be less than a G1S/G2S).

I can't seem to find it, even on the agency's website.

I did find that if the package isn't listed where it was made, there is no duty though. I'll check if the C90S' box is listed as "Made in Taiwan" and re-post tomorrow.
