As stated on Title. I'm interested in getting one, but Best Buy Canada is, surprise surprise, not carrying them.
Anyone else trying to get one and actually found another carrier / way of getting it without using freight carriers?

What are the specs? It might have a different model # in Canada. Check out ncix.com and newegg.ca, both carry Asus laptops.
-
Newegg doesn't carry it yet.
I would say your best bet is to wait until more retailers have it in November. -
Nope, no1 in Canada carries tat lappy AFAIK
-
You probably won't be able to get the X1 model, since our Best Buys don't tend to carry computers with video cards. The normal G50VT though shouldn't be a problem, only a matter of time, they don't even have the "normal" G50VT in the states yet, so just hold out a bit.

The whole point is the X1 model, of course.
Hopefully DirectCanada, CanadaComputers, NCIX or Newegg will carry it... -
Even if the ASUS G50VT were to be sold in Canada in the near future, it's going to be a lot more expensive than the US Bestbuy's X1 model. At the moment I'm more interested in the ASUS G50VT-X1 because even though it is crippled in some areas, the cost is much more affordable. I can assure you when and if this laptop makes it to retailers in Canada you’ll have two models one being relatively better than the X1 model in terms of CPU and screen resolution and one being near maxed-out in terms of G50VT hardware. Which is why we’ll probably won’t have the same “best bang for the buck” gaming laptop in Canada.

I managed to order one using a contact I have at ASUS. Hopefully I will have a review posted in a week or so. I might not keep it so you can have first dibs. I'll be in TO early November.
When it comes up here to NCIX and Newegg it will be the A1 version unless BB.ca smartens up and carries the X1. I am pretty sure the X1 is a BB exclusive. The A1 will have a better spec (of dubious value IMO) and probably be $1800-2000 (unless our currency continues to tank). -
