I recently got my B1 and booted it up and everything looked good. I then installed a Hitachi 200GB HDD. I am now trying to install Vista Ultimate with no luck. I have tried several times and the install works great until it gets to around 75-80% while performing the "Completing installation..." phase right after the first reboot where it just stalls and doesnt finish. It doesnt hang as i can still move the mouse and the step continues to animate the dots .... I can also click on the X where it pops up a dialog saying you cannot quit install at this point. No errors pop up either. I have left it to run for hours and it doesnt go anywhere just sits there. Could it be the Hitachi HDD? I tried changing the sata mode to compatible , nothing.

    Any ideas?

it is possible it can be the hdd and ram. Try running both memtest from memtest.org and a hitachi diag test from hitachi.com

"Official" hacked version of Vista 32bit Ultimate has difficulties installating on Intel's. Might be the cause. But it's usually on the boot screen though
