I tried to update to the new bios using the utility inside the bios by pressing
f2 on my W3J. When I pointed the utility to my C: Drive I got the message:
"I/O Error". What could be going on?

You may need to put the BIOS file on a removable device instead.

Does that mean that there is something wrong with my HDD or is that normal?

It's probably just the BIOS can't read a BIOS file off of the hard drive.

You can try 2 things. You can try to update the bios from Windows with the WinFlash utility so you don't need to do it directly via the bios menu. Alternatively, like Brainonska said, you can put it on a USB drive and then use it from the bios. Just be sure to have the USB drive plugged in before you enter the bios (i.e., put the file on the USB stick from windows and reboot while leaving the USB drive in the port).

I flash mine via DOS & HDD. Did not have that error whatsoever. Like others have suggested, try flashing via Windows.

Oh - I just thought of another thing. Was the BIOS file you downloaded for Windows or was it for DOS flashing?

It shouldn't matter. It's the same file. I would try putting the file (unzipped) on a USB flash drive.
