My daughter has an ASUS X58L Series laptop, and I seem to be unable to connect her to our HP6980 printer. This printer is plugged into our WiFi/Broadband router, and her laptop is connected to the router over WiFi.

She can connect to broadband/Internet, however when installing the HP Software it claims it cannot see the printer (which is on!)

I have been able to install the HP software, and connect/print on my laptop (a Dell).

We are using PC Tools Firewall on both laptops.

I cannot think of any more things to try. Any help would be much appreciated!!!

    TIA

Try temporarily disabling the firewall on the Asus to see if that is main issue. If not, then try installing the driver first before installing the HP software.
