    Hello everyone,

I have recently bought G51Vx-X3A from newegg and everything works as it should except the Splendid. The system runs Windows 7 64-bit home premium.

Basically, according to the user manual there should be some sort of "sliders" that will let me create my own profile when I click on "My Profile" button in Splendid. Please take a look at the attached screenshot. As you will see, there are no sliders and all controls are inactive. The only thing I can do is click "Add to Hotkey" and "Save button".

I've wrote 2 mails to asus through official support inbox and they haven't replied in almost 3 weeks.

    So far I've tried:
    Re-installing Splendid;
Restoring the whole system from scratch to the Factory Default level.
Manually messing with *.ini files in Splendid install directory.

All gave no result. Seems like this utility doesn't let me create my profile even with factory default setup.

I'm lost. Does anyone else having the same issue? Does anybody know how to fix this?

    Thank you beforehand!

Theres nothing really you can do. I don't use the profile manger but I do use Splendid set on soft mode through the ROG button. For my G72 once its changed its saved so whenever the system boots, Splendid is in soft mode.

Asus's preloaded software is somewhat buggy and I wouldn't count on them to help with any of this as Asus really just tries to fill up their systems with as much bloatware as possible so they can advertise it as a feature.

The best solution is just to drop the idea of trying to set up a profile.

Thank you, mylowrider, I guess I'll just forget about this "feature" and maybe use nVidia control panel then. I mostly wanted it to work so I could switch to my profile with Hotkey instead of going to nVidia cp everytime.

BTW, I like "soft" profile too. In "soft" the black color at least looks like black and not blue-ish like in the so called "normal" mode.

    Thanks again!

    Hello everyone again,

Today, however, I finally found the solution to the problem of Splendid missing controls.

The cause of the problem: desktop DPI (dots per inch) set to 125% and "Use Windows XP style DPI scaling" enabled will make Splendid controls disappear in "My Profile". Splendid functions normally at DPI set to 100% or 150%, but it does not work with DPI set to 125% and Windows XP DPI scaling enabled.

How to fix it on Windows 7:

    1) Right-click on the desktop and choose "Screen Resolution".
    2) Click on "Make text and other items larger or smaller"
    3) In the next dialog select either "Smaller - 100% (default)" or "Larger - 150%".
    4) Log off and then log back in. The Splendid will now have appropriate controls in "My Profile".

    OR

If you still like the 125% DPI you can do the following:

    1) Right-click on the desktop and choose "Screen Resolution".
    2) Click on "Make text and other items larger or smaller"
    3) In the next dialog on the left size click "Set custom text size (DPI)".
    4) In the next window select 125% DPI and make sure to uncheck "Use Windows XP style DPI scaling". Then click Ok.
    5) Click Apply then Log off and then log back in. The Splendid will now have appropriate controls in "My Profile".

I hope this will help someone and people won't have to suffer like me. Also, I have noticed that setting DPI to 125% + Windows XP style scaling will screw up many other program's interface. Some un-resizeable windows (the ones that you cannot make Fullscreen) will have controls missing or moved beyond window borders such that you cannot use them. The solution for this is the same as above.
