I am a college student in the need of a laptop. I prefer a 14" screen with a good battery life and dedicated graphics....pretty much anything but the iga950 lol. It's mainly going to be used for Word processing, internet, basic applications. I want the option to play games though. I have a desktop to satisfy my real gaming needs but I don't want the laptop to limit me to Windows preinstalled games when I'm on the road.

I have looked on Circuit City and Best Buy but can't seem to find any budget asus'.

I look to spend no more than 1000 dollars.

    Thanks.

Perhaps something in the A8 line will suit you... however, you're gonna have trouble finding one at < $1000. A little more than $1000 will get you a decent A8 system though... shop around :)

shopping online is alot cheaper than buying in-store.

or, the store will underpower the laptop to price it hte same.

sorry i dont have any suggestions though :) (i recommend my laptop, but its not 14" screen, and its pricier)
