I want to do a fresh installation of Windows 8 on my UX31A, but I am having issues booting from the USB drive. I have a Windows 8 USB formatted flash drive--this boot drive works on my Samsung, so I know it was formatted correctly and boots just fine. I plug the drive to my UX31A and then go to the BIOS > Save & Exit menu > Boot Override > UEFI: KingstonDataTraveler SE9PMAP. When I choose the UEFI option, the screen blinks and then goes back to the same page. I press ENTER again and it does the same thing. I can't boot from the drive. Am I missing something?

The only problem here is that you won't be installing Windows 8 under UEFI. It's necessary to revert to legacy BIOS/CSM for Windows 7 and previous versions of Windows, but all you should really need to do is disable Secure Boot.
