    Cannot install INF under XP PRO G50V-A1

    So i just recently installed windows xp pro on my asus g50 and well the first thing im suppose to do is install the INF but i get a error saying

    "SETUP.EXE - BAD IMAGE"
    The application or DLL(path) is not a valid windows image. Please check against your installation diskette.

    Any help would be much appreciated... Thanx in advance

    Are you referring to an inf associated with the windows installation, video driver, etc. ?

    Probably he means the chipset drivers (usually called INFUpdate...).

    In that case I would suggest downloading them off support.asus.com. The kit on the CD may be corrupted.

    Additionally, you may be trying to install the Vista version under XP, which may not work (although the chipset drivers usually work equally well in Vista and XP). Have a look here for the correct XP drivers:

    thats the next problem i dont have a driver cd my niece damaged it so its no longer working.....i downloaded the inf from the asus website and tried that now i get the error

    "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software
    setup will now exit"

    this laptop is really starting to frustrate me any help would be great

    Right, now we really need to know exactly what INF you are talking about. What driver are you trying to install? For what device? Where did you download it from, and did you download the driver for the correct model and the correct OS?
