Cannot register with Asus

Hi,
I have recently purchased an Asus UX31E Asus Zenbook, it works well with no problems.
I have on several occasions attempted to register this computer with Asus but the registration process will not accept the serial number, i have contacted Asus support but the serial number is not valid I'm told.

i have been into the bios and the serial number from the Bios is
C4N0[removed by mod]
this number is not valid.
Asus support tells me that the third digit is not to be keyed as a zero but should be keyed as a alpha "O" Unfortunately the third digit is an N.
I even provided Asus support with my user name and password and asked that they register the thing for me but they are not interested in helping it appears as I have sent two emails asking for some help, with no response.

Can anyone through some light on what is the valid serial number, I thought that the bios serial number would be the one.
Any help would be appreciated with this small problem.

Is this a NEW unit or refurbished?

Where was your laptop purchased from?

 

The serial number should also be on the label on the retail box.

Also, make sure you are registering using internet explorer. ASUS has horrible javascript code that doesn't work across browsers.

 

I've encountered the exact same issue with units that have been refurbished by Bizcom (The primary refurb/ASP ASUS uses in the US)

Units serviced by them tend to have invalid serial numbers or are actually products meant for other markets.

If we can find out if this laptop is NEW or referb then I can point the OP to the correct people at ASUS. Knowing the seller will help as well because we can find out if the laptop is SKU for USA, Europe or Asia It could be a grey market item, which would be why the ASUS support agent was not able to find it's serial. (ASUS uses different outsourcing companies per territory and the system is not universal for all of it's contractors)

You need to register for both if your model comes with the ADW.
