I never had the problem till today, When i use the Fn key to move brightness of screen up, it moves 1 click, but there is no visible brightness increase, and its able to decrease 1 click as well but no difference.

so basically Im stuck at medium screen brightness and can't increase or decrease brightness.

Any idea what could be causing this?

I have never been able to use my function key to change brightness, I have always assumed i disabled something at startup when I first bought the laptop  . Is that the case?

I tried reinstalling the hotkey drivers, and it didnt, work. So I just reinstalled vista, and reinstalled the drivers and it works.

Probably you disabled the ATK and/or HControl utilities.
