Whenever I try running the live cd on my G1S, after every option I chose, the screen goes blank and its almost like the computer has shut off... I'm really stuck.

Gutsy Tribe5 Live CD boots and has everything working out of the box for me. Waiting until it's completely done before I install it, though. Mid-October.

did you try the alternate install cd? and, i would also recommend using the prereleases of 7.10 until they release the full version, then make sure to upgrade to that.
