I have a budget up to 1600$ and cant choose and decide what do i need, I like g51rx as it is pretty nice and powerfull and only runs around a 1000, but I also like g51vx A1 with quad, But I only play counter strike source, so I guess g51rx is good enough isnt it? I dont really work on my pc but I do want it to be fast, currently my wife has Hp dv6000 and i hate it! Its slow!
What would you suggest? I want the best laptop for the money to keep it for 3 years or so.

If you want best laptop for the money, it's the G51 sold at BB
-

i want best laptop between $1000 to 1499 +/-

Nothing is Real Notebook Evangelist
I'd say to go with either the G71GX-RX05 or the G51Vx-X2A that is now available on newegg.

does BEST buy carry G51Vx-X2A ? Cant find it on their website.
-
No. And I don't agree that the base G51 at BB is the best for the money
If you're going to buy a BB model, I recommend the G71 more.
-
IMO the best for the money is the Newegg G51VX-X1A. Better cpu than the BB version and a much better screen and warranty.
-
newegg version looks better, but both versions GPU is under clocked.
-
But it can be overclocked easily from what I read is it so? -
Basically, if you want a 15 incher, go for either the best buy G51 or the $1350 newegg version.
If you don't mind 17 inchers, go for the G71 at best buy.
And yes, the videocard can be easily overclocked. -
The Source engine is not a very demanding engine, every single version of the G51 or G71 is going to be able to run it gorgeously at 60fps no problem with good drivers and maybe an overclock...
Basically, it all comes down to which case style you like, what games you expect to maybe hop to in the future, what size screen you want, and how much you want to have left over for accessories like a gaming headset, speakers, external monitor, mouse, etc...
You would probably be perfectly happy with the Best Buy G51, and it would save you a lot of cash. Best Buy's version doesn't come with Asus's included protection plan, but it has a few extra perks over Asus's protection plan, and Best Buy has the cheapest version.
Newegg has a good version for $1350, also, which has a well-clocked dual core processor, which again is probably more than what you'll need but its good for future-proofing. But again, the Best Buy version is still a pretty awesome laptop. -
I want to basically want to replace my desktop 90% of a time my laptop wont move out of my appt, so I dont mind a 17".

Then the G71gx sounds right for you, then. And if you're using it literally as a desktop replacement, invest a little in a cooler. I'm getting a Zalman NC2000.
But before you go you and buy it, make sure you know all the features.
Cant make a decision, help please.
