    1901 3dmark05 on a Dell E1505.

    T2400 cpu, Seagate 60GB 7200 RPM Harddrive, x1400.

Stock Clocks, improvement of about 150 3dmarks from the old Omega Drivers (before 6.7)

yes, the x1600 should be more than 2x the card that the x1400 is.

I am using ati tool not ati tray tools to do my overclocking. If you are using ati tool all you need to do is close the 3d view change the slider setting and the click the button "set clock" Thats it!!! If you click on the Mem button below the sliders it will say "chipset not supported" I think that button changes memory timings not memory speed if I recall correctly. Have fun overclocking!!!

Oh and for monitoring temps I'm a firm believer that you are going to get artifacts and errors before you damage your chips. Some people have links to programs that may work but I don't bother with them. If you take your overclock slow up to max settings and then back it back down from there 5 mhz or so you should be fine. Also with the cooling system on the W3J it does an awesome job of removing heat from the chassis.

550 on mems?! OMFG!! I got 540 once with open bottom + air-conditioner blowing on it on highest speed!! No arts?! Besides I installed Catalyst 6.8 and got 3500 @ 510/510?! WTF?!

EDIT. Ok, I dealed with it, 510/510 - 4732. Not bad. But Omega will bring better score IMO, 4750 @ 510/510?

Yes the 550 on mems is without artifacts and I think I can go higher. This is on the 6.8's. I prefer the mobility cats over the omegas.

Omegas are always faster than same numbered Catalysts. But 550 is awesome.

That doesn't sem like Omega's are any better than ATI. Re-run 3D mark 05. You never get the same score. It can often vary by 50~100. You might re-run at get 4800 with ATI 6.8, and 4700 with Omegas. Regardless, they are both very close. But the Cat 6.8's have the latest updates for games ot fix glitches. Shoudln't be an issue for most people, but if you are having trouble, you should try out CAT 6.8. Other than that, it is really just a preference right now.

I get same scores with 6.8 as I did with 6.7, and with Asus and Intel drivers for my Z96J. No one has the "upper hand" right now.
