    Hi All,

    I've heard from a couple of decently reputable sources that Centrino prices are set to drop in the first of July, doing the whole

    current 1.86 price -> 2.0
    current 1.7 price -> 1.86

    etc.

    What I'm wondering, is how long do these price drops take to trickle down to the consumer? It'd be immediately cheaper for resellers buying the CPU's from Intel, so does that mean that if I order a notebook right after these drops, I'd be able to take advantage of the drops?

    I was originally going to get a Z70V with a 1.86ghz processor, but if the 2.0 is going to be the price of a 1.86ghz, I can wait two weeks.

    Thanks,
    Sandeep

    That's how it always is...... whether it's on the 1st (should be sometime in the first week) .... but it's usually immediate.

    Don't have a clue..... it's all based on inventory..... the only cpu that will really lose money on a dealer would be the 2.1ghz right now.. anyone who stocked more than a handful of those during the last few weeks before a price drop is playing with fire.... those drop a ton.

    Like we've said before... ram could go up.. you never know what could happen, but a new cpu should be out I think and that'll drop everything one place.

    Thanks,
    Justin

    Thanks Justin, good to know!
    Do you know if Canadians get to enjoy the same immediacy?

    Thanks,
    Sandeep
