    Hi,

I recently bought an asus a6ja notebook and I am very satisfied... except for one thing... Whenever I go for the Ctrl key... I end up pressing the Fn key... It is exactly in the place where I think the Fn should be ...

Does anyone know if there is a way to switch the fn key function with a ctrl key function?? It's really annoying!

I believe there is. The other day I was looking at a software program on NBR that changed key functions. Mostly for different languages, etc.

Ill keep my eye out for it.

    Edit: Found it!!! :D

I am not sure it will do exactly what you want it to do, because I have never used it before, but it's a start.

Obviously after you use the utility, you will physically have to swap the two keys so you wont get confused.

    Hope it works.

Most people find it annoying at first... but you'll get used to it.
Now when I use desktop keyboards... I find myself missing the control key because I always assume it's closer!

You COULD do what androo has suggested... but I find that as you use your laptop more, you will get used to it quite fast.

It's hardcoded into the BIOS, the FN key. For example, if you hold down a certain key for too long, Windows will popup a message, about Sticky Keys. But if you hold down FN, it won't, because it's not a 'real' keyboard key. It's hard to explain, but the only way to switch, is to physically modify the keyboard and the wiring.

HP had an option in their BIOS on my old laptop to switch the Ctrl and Fn keys, but I can't find it in ASUS' bios, I'm on a V6j if it matters.
