Ok, so after the price change at Canada Computers, every place seems to have it at pretty much a set price of $2,339. But remember once upon a time i said that there was a place i checked that i bought an s5n cheap from? Well they're selling the w3v a bit cheaper than everyone else. Worth looking into if you want to buy. Look at http://www.computerlinksystems.com/ . They're selling it for $2,302. I came across this just because i was a bit curious and was wondering how the prices are for this machine at different locations. I'm suprised because they're actually managing to sell cheaper than canadasys, which usually sells everything the cheapest! Well, other than this their general price for EVERYTHING seems to be more than every other place. Oh well, here's the description from the site:
NB-AS-W3V ASUS NOTEBOOK W3V CENTRINO 1.8 512MB,60GB,14WXGA ,DVD+-RW STOCK AVAILABLE 2302.00
EDITED THE LINK, added an extra s or something, anyway it works now.

too bad they're only in bc =/ the shipping charges would probably push it over a bit.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
I just ordered my w3v from pccom in Toronto for $2600CDN taxes in, with some nick nacks. It was supposed to be here yesterday but it's delayed from the distributor. Hopefully they will get it today or tomorow.

I got my w3v on friday. It was late getting to the distribution center so I had to wait 2 days. I picked it up and everything went well. I have no complaints about pccom at this time, they were as good as to be expected and the price was good, although I think you could haggle it down a bit more.
Other than that, ...this is one wicked laptop! I have absolutely no complaints thus far. no dead pixels, the case it comes with is reasonably nice. Wireless optical logitech mouse has a big USB fob that sticks out of the lappy, which could be smaller. I think i'll get a bluetooth one in the future. The touch pad is very good though. oh, and it looks way better in front of your face than in the pics. Even the people at the store were like "holy *hit, that's nice" when i took it out of the box in the store. I guess they had never seen one yet.
...oh, and about the heat issues, I have none. the heat on the right palm rest is very low. it is barely warm during all usage, ...but i don't play games so that's not a factor. I was worried about the heat, but i'm glad that it's not an issue.
