I've got a brand spanking new ASUS W3J laptop and have no complaints except for one small issue. When the computer arrived there was a "NTFS Converter" icon on my desktop. When I clicked, it obviously converted my drivet to NTFS. However, it only converted my D drive, and not C. And, it won't let me convert C. It says something like I have "too much loaded on the drive to conver."
Okay, weird enough. I can live w/ having one fad32 drive and one ntfs. Heres the problem. Whenever the laptop hibernates and i try to wake it up a blue screen comes up that urges to check my hard disk for inconsistinces. This is aggrivating!
Two questions how can I convert C to ntsf and will this fix this weird problem??
-
go to start run type cmd. a command prompt will come up
convert C: /fs:ntfs hit enter. will ask if you want to dismount now hit n for no then enter. will ask if you want to convert when it reboots or something and choose yes. thats it -
you may also want to run a chkdsk of c drive at the cmd prompt as well.
if there are errors add / f ie chkdsk c:/ f to fix the errors.
Also how full is your c drive? maybe there isnt enough space to convert properly, try dumping some of your data files eg photos onto d-drive first.
