Hi everyone
Just when i decided to get the G50VT-a1 from newegg
i went to amazon site and saw their g50vt series
i was really suprised cause they have same as the best buy model (with 15.6 -16:9 HD screen which i really want)
BUT....the resolution is 1680 + 1050!!!!!.....
not like 13**X7** which turned down many people from the bb model
also all the 3 model has T9400 (2.53GHz) CPU which is great also
Ofcourse they have 9800mGS...![]()
NOW....im reaaaaaaaaaally confused![]()
which one to get???....i really want the 16:9 sceen that bad!
But im afraid im gonna loose something from newegg model..... Am i gonna loose anything??!!
NOTE: THE COLOR IS ORANGE LIKE NEWEGG!!!
Last they say shipping weigh is 17 lb (for me ~8.5KGs)
is that normal???....cause it seems too much
also im gonna import it from USA to where i live in the UAE...
Anyway please if you can answer my Q? dont hesitate cause i really want to get one and it will take looong time to ship
THE LINKS:

ooh weird
the title says 15.4
details say 15.6......??
i didnt look closely at the title until now!!! can u belive it!
Im more confused now!!! -
It's a mistake.
Asus wouldn't make a new chassis just for Amazon. -
take alook at the pics it looks exactly as BB model bt in orange!!!
-
1680X1050 is not a 16:9 resolution.
-
tell that to amazon!!
-
It's most probably a mistake as if it had 16:9 screen, it wouldn't use that resolution.
Besides, a different type of screen would warrant a different name for the model, like A3 for example, since the A1, A2 etc are specific models.
I agree that the 16:9 screen is pretty nice, I am liking it very much, -
What to do now?
I think im gonna send an email to them.....
.... -
Theres no point. Humans make mistakes, its natural. Sorry to let you down but its not a 16:9 15.6in laptop. They obviously were looking at the X1 when writing down the second part of the description.

seems u are correct qaz333
they dont seem to know anything about the laptop
here is their response to my email:

im gonna stick to newegg for now.... -
thats weird, its a downgraded A1 model for the same price as the real deal
I've got a buddy who works for Amazon, I've asked him to check this out to see if this is accurate (and clear up the screen size question).
Unfortunately, I hear its a big fat bureaucracy so there's no telling if we'll get a response today or anytime soon since it has to go through the right "channels"
If the basic specs and price are accurate that's just ridiculous both Gentech and BTOtech are offering the A1 at just under 1600 bucks -

I guess I should update my model comparison post, but if the specs and price are correct, I'm not going to bother. Directing people to something that has less for a higher price will be doing them a disservice.
-
i don't see it
they must have fixed it
Check it out, Amazon G50vt series!
