Hi, I'm comparing two ASUS laptops: the K40IJ-D2 and the U81A-RX05. The two laptops both have Windows 7 64-bit and are both essentially the same price - the K40IJ-D2 is $30 more expensive.

Here are the specs on both:

    U81A-RX05:
    2.1 GHz Intel T6500
    4GB DDR2 RAM
320GB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM)
    14-Inch HD LED LCD Display
Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) OS
    Intel GMA 4500MHD

    K40IJ-D2:
    2.2 GHz Intel T6600
    4GB DDR2 RAM
320GB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM)
    14-Inch HD LED LCD Display
Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) OS
    Intel GMA 4500M

Obviously the integrated graphics is the worst thing about these laptops but for this price range that's all I expect. From the looks of it, the U81A-R05 has a slightly better chip (the 4500MHD instead of the 4500M). Are there any other salient differences between these laptops that I should take note of?

Which would you buy? The price, BTW, is $500 for the U81A-RX05 and $530 for the K40IJ-D2.

The U series is better designed than the K's in nearly every way. And nothing wrong with iGPU's if you don't need the graphics prowess :).

    Take the U81.

Thanks! That's the sort of info I needed. Can you give me some examples of ways in which the U series is better? They both seem to have essentially the same "components," IE graphics, CPU etc.
