    Hey everyone,

First time poster here, but long time lurker :). I actually just purchased a Asus UL50VT, and so far, I love it. One thing, though -- I like to do a clean install on all new machines, and in this case, preferably not through Asus Recovery Media (I have a Windows 7 Ultimate DVD waiting to be used =)). However, I want to maintain my ability to switch graphics cards by pressing the left power button, as well as my ability to enter into Turbo33 mode. Apart from those two things, I don't really care about included Asus software. Is there a way to accomplish this goal? Will one of the recovery DVDs allow me to install the necessary programs/drivers for this, or am I doomed to use the recovery media provided to me by Asus? If so, is there a way to clean install Windows without any of Asus's bloatware?

    Thanks!

you will need to keep the turbo33, p4g, and the stock video driver if you want everything to work.. maybe the 197 driver will also work but the 258 does not

Go to Asus support website, under their driver page, download the following:
    under ATK,

Asus ATKOSD2 : its the utility that enables the icons that shows up when you change volume, brightness etc.
ATK Generic Function Service Utility: driver for the keyboard shortcuts
    ATKACPI Driver: another driver

    under touchpad
Elantech Touchpad Driver: if you want to adjust your multitouch settings, this driver is useful

    under Ultilities:
Power4Gear Hybrid Utility: the one that changes power schemes

    under camera:
    choose your webcam model

    under VGA:
install the nvidia graphics driver, this is critical if you want your graphics switching to work correctly. Don't install the nvidia drivers from nvidia website, as they don't support the non-optimus graphics switching that the ul50 uses.

go to the asus driver download website (dont go to nvidia's or intel's site), and select your notebook model, under VGA, download the display driver.
