The comment should not be tested or used.

There are some ways of keeping it clean.

As you mentioned non alcohol based wipes.

Another is a micro fiber cloth and just swipe the screen, you can easily carry this with you, if you have a small one.

Also a spray on solution in which you use a cloth to clean, kinda like Windex Window cleaner, but one made for screens, and LCDs. I use one made by DAC.

Lastly do this with care, don't put too much pressure onto the screen and try not to have any solution seep through the edges.

Call me crazy but I used alcohol (100% ethanol to be exact) the other day in combination with a microfiber cloth. Worked great, screen is really nice and clean now. Not something I would do regularly, but after a few years there was alot of dirt on my old m2n.

Once again, in my opinion, the best way to clean a laptop screen is...

These instructions can be found here. The formula works great for cleaning just about anything.

I have found two products that work fantastically. The first is Optimist Prime Spray and a nice mircrofiber from www.shaggymac.com. Those can get a screen really clean. The second is the prepackaged, one time use screen cleaning products that ShaggyMac sells for apple computers (obviously they work on any computer), they might be kinda expensive for some people, but they will get a screen really clean.
