I bought my F8SV about a year ago, and recently the fan has been getting to be very loud. It also getts pretty hot when I play games, and my framerate drops after playing for a while.

So, I'm thinking about opening up this thing and cleaning out the dust from the fans and heatsinks. But there is still 1 year worth of warranty left, does anyone know if this will void the warranty? If it doesn't has anyone actually opened it before? Or is a guide on here showing how to do it? I've never opened any laptop before.

There is a guide on here somewhere with a thorough description of how to clean an ASUS laptop. You won't void any warranties opening it up for cleaning either. Once you remove the memory/CPU/GPU access door, you'll see that things you can't remove are marked with yellow "warranty void if broken" tape. Ironically I noticed today when installing my new memory that ASUS tech support broke some of this tape, put another piece of top of it, and broke that too, lol. Hopefully it's not a problem in the future..
