There was another thread about clicking noises coming from the hard drive which is in idle. I am aware of the solutions and has downloaded Quiet HDD. It fixes the clicking. Do you guys have the same clicking issue? Do you just deal with it or use tune up software? Does it negatively affect the performance of the hard drive? I just don't want it to fail in a year because of that. I still have an option to return the laptop, yet no guarantee another laptop will not have the same issue.

Sounds like your HDD might be DOA, or on its way to death. I'd recommend getting a new HDD from ASUS, or exchange the notebook all together.
Usually the HDDs don't fail often. But when they do, its rather unpredictable, and in some unfortunate cases, comes very quickly. -

As viberabyss said clicking can indicate imminenet hard drive failure. If it was mine, I would go here : WD Support / Downloads / Legacy Internal
and run diagnostic tools just to be sure.
