I just picked up as S96J and so far I'm thrilled with it!

I can't seem to fix the clock, though. It shuts down with the computer and doesn't keep time when powered down. I have to reset the time manually whenever I turn it back on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, the only thing that I can think of is the motherboard battery went out. There is a small battery on your motherboard that keeps the clock running etc. They usually last around 5 years, so its strange that It would allready be out, unless it was a faulty battery. The battery costs like $2 and you can buy one at radio shack or any big computer store like CC. You should check with your dealer first and be sure that opening the case up and getting at the motherboard won't void your warranty with them.

The battery in laptop doesn't like a desktop's mainboard battery. To take out the cover will take much long time. Regular users don't know how to do this without a disassemble manul. A best way is to bring it to Asus service center and let Asus's technician to fix it.
