What is the color of the outside of the laptop (the top panel where the lights are)?

I have seen mixed answers. Some pictures show a black panel with a blue design and others show a white panel. I called Asus and they said that you can get the ASUS G51VX-A1 in both color schemes.

Showing the black and blue color scheme:

    Showing the white color scheme:

As far as I know and seen, the Asus g51vx-a1 from resellers is the black with blue lightning.

I really hope it's possible to get the white cover on a g51vx-a1. I'll ask my reseller to make sure.

Quite sure the G60 will have the white scheme.

I heard the g60 could come out around mid Sept. If they release a 1080p version it would be roughly in 4 months or so.

The white cover is only available on Best Buy versions.

The blue lightning thing is the color scheme of the reseller versions

    Thanks!
I guess the white G51VX-A1 shown in the first post is a misprint.

That's quite frustrating, as I cannot find the G51VX-A1 on the BB website, only the RX05.

I assume this is true for the X2A and X1A also? The white cover only at BB?

the G51VX-A1 and X2A and X1A all come with black lids with blue designs, no matter where you purchase them. only the G51VX-RX05 is sold at best buy, and only that model has a white lid. the G51VX-A1 is sold at many other online retailers, and the G51VX-X1A as far as I know, is only sold at newegg.com

This kinda sucks because I was hoping for a G51VX-A1 in white, since it looks way better imo. But I can settle for a black/blue one.

    Thanks for all the input!

I was hoping for a white one as well, but I'm just going to buy a replacement lid for the G51vx-rx05 and put it on mine. they should fit just fine.

Wow, it's the 21st century and we're still talking about black and white?

Yea I'd like a 2nd lid too. I'd like to put some artwork on the inside if that's possible. In between the white part and the see through plastic IF you can separate it that way.

I think the G60VX also comes with the white lid, all the pictures I've seen have the white design and I know these aren't pictures of the G51VX-RX05 because it doesn't have the lights on the sides. A number of Australian stores have listed the G60VX in their catalogues but the price is outrageous, most of them are 2600 AUD+.

    http://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=g60vx&spos=3

The G60VX is identical to the A1 except for the lower resolution and 16" screen (even though the dimensions of the chassis are supposedly the same)... yeah, I don't know why they increased the screen size but gave it the lower resolution.

I've noticed that too. No lights on the G60 pictures. I wonder if a lid like that is compatible with a lid that has lights. The G60 is so expensive too wth?

If you can get a G60 lid, would the bezel be the same size or are they separate?

I was thinking of waiting for a 1080p G60 in high hopes but I don't want to wait until next spring! :(
