    Hi all,
Is there anyone here who has an Asus notebook with Intel Graphics? I'm trying to correct the colour settings on my Z63a because the screen looks washed out and the settings on the intel colour correction isn't working for me. Do any of you use the RivaTuner Colour Correction? If so, please tell me what your settings are for blue-red-green. I've been trying a few deifferent settings but i'm not very pleased with the results. If you're using another utility please let me know. I love this notebook but i'm not very satisfied with the screen in it's current state. Any help would be very appreciated. Oh, and Happy Easter to all you who celebrate the holiday.

Sorry, SergesPlace... I've tried tweaking with the Intel settings but everything I try just doesn't seem to work. I agree that the screen looks kind of washed out.. but I've grown used to it.

I'll keep tweaking and I'll let you know if I find a good combination.

You guys both serious? After hooking my friend up with a Z63A, I think his colours are just fantastic and vibrant. Very strange, maybe this is a subjective thing, but I KNOW my colors are a little bit washed out on my Z70Va, but your glossy Z63A/W3V screens are fantastic.

    Maybe try a driver reinstallation?

I know alot of people love how the screen looks but in my honest opinion it's not the notebook's strongest feature. My last notebook was a Dell XPS Gen2 and that screen was unbelievable but also needed a little correction. Fortunately, that notebook had a nVidia card in it so getting good colour settings was much easier to do. Yes, i do believe that colour is subjective and that not everyone sees the same thing and for me the colours are not very vibrant on the Z63a they are only bright. Even my Dell 20'' Widescreen needed adjusting and that screen right now is simply amazing. Iguess i'm one of those guys who thinks all screens need some sort of adjusting. :)

its also due to the limited viewing angle of the z63a. because as soon as you move your head the screen washes out fast.

You're absolutely right about SRD. I've never had a screen with such a limited viewing angle like this one before. I just want to fix what's directly in front of me.

    You can try this:
    http://www.colorvision.com/profis/profis_view.jsp?id=581

You can order directly from them, use it , save a profile(s) for your monitor and return it. Yoo can use saved profiles latter. This thing is good. I've just calibrated my new A6Jc (NVidia 7300). The huge difference! I thought that I gonna use it with external monitor, but calibrated it looks pretty **** good!
By good I didn't mean nice, or vivid. I meant - correct, right.

Give it a try! You'll pay just for shipping. They have 30 day "No Questions Asked" return policy. http://www.colorvision.com/faq_detail.jsp?faq_id=64
And you can call/e-mail them and ask if your chipset is supported.
    Good luck!

SRD has it right on. I forgot to mention that. The viewing angle also contributes to this "problem".

Just tilt your screen more and try not to move your head too much if this bothers you. :D

I like the z63a alot but i really cant see how anyone could ever do photo work or movie work on that screen due to its limited viewing angles. if any model needed an IPS screen it was that one.

I don't think the viewing angles are THAT bad... I've seen worse.

Keep in mind Asus doesn't make these LCD panels... :)

Anyway, I've continued tweaking with the colour settings... I just can't seem to find the right way to tweak the BLUE. It just never looks right to me...

haha... yeah, I recall seeing forecasts of ~19-20 degrees in the T.dot.

I'm not using any special programs... just using the Color Correction option in the Intel Graphics control panel

In 3 months when it's 45c in the shade i'll be crying to come back to the Coast. The colour control option in the intel Graphics isn't very good at all. I'm using the Riva Tuner control panel which has much more settings. The colours are deeper and more rich. It's just a matter of finding the right combination.

I agree, the Blue setting is the challenge. Thought I had it once, then looked at the same jpg file on my desktop LCD and decided that all the flesh tones looked wierd so went back to the stock Intel settings. Probably just need to move on to some other hobby instead :)

Would love to hear about any success that AuroraS or others have on this, though.
