I just think people will be more satisfied if they find answers that are already out there.... because you can judge the follow answers to those answers and weed out those who know what know the heck is going on. Five people could come in here and just tell them their quality sucks and they'd leave the forum and think it must be true.... research is key.... and the search the forum option is a good place to start.
... afterall, coming in and asking a question like that means you don't have a clue what Asus' systems are all about to begin with, so you probably need to know more than just their "quality"...... but you need to settle down on one or two models before you ask a blanket question like that anywy.. as all models although good, may be a great quality and value for their price, but you might not compare those to a V6 or W2... etc. -
instead of wasting energy writing a comment about how people should search these forums, you could waste the same amount of time giving the guest an answer or perhaps a little insight of ASUS' build quality?

The build quality questions do get old, but most of us have no access to Asus notebooks to judge for ourselves the build quality. We are forced to rely on second-hand reporting and honest resellers to alleviate any fears we may have plunking down close to two grand.
I'm basing most of my expectations on the success I have had with other Asus products, namely their motherboards. -
You can find the entire history of Asus and a million and one reviews of pretty much every model computer they ever produced with a few Google searches. But people are lazy and just want to ask someone else and get a quick answer. First of you're getting a one sided opinion simply asking a few people, researching and reading review upon review is the only way to weed out the true facts from the opinion based ones. I research whatever electronics I buy before hand, sometimes spending hours a day just reading up on what I'm buying and comparing it to the competition. I wouldn't consider buying an electronic device without at least a few hours of research before hand. -

No... as far as me wasting time... you wasted time to tell me about my waste of time... and I could say that you were free to give your opinion and you didn't either.... what a waste!
For all newbies.... it's best to search the forum... and I also think there should be a rule stickied above all other stickies which not only includes the FAQ's.... but states first and foremost - don't make a post before reading all the common questions... -
okay Justin...we will follow your always perfect advice.

( a bit of an exaggeration, how many units have they sold in the past 3 years? I mostly found reviews of motherboards from Google. They do not rank in the top 50 lists for notebooks. You cannot buy them either from the manufacturer or from a top retailer. C/net has one user review for instance and one product brief that mentions nothing of the quality of build, appropriate question) -

Justin,
Well, I guess by me being worthless on the board, you are raised higher. Actually, I do not give advice because I do not yet own a notebook. I am doing my own research, which includes these forums.
My comments do serve a purpose in that I would like you to provide advice, which you can do very well, and not pontificate, which gets old quickly and gets in the way of your advice and knowledge.
Share your knowledge Justin, don't try to impress us by talking down to us.
BTW, this handle is what I have always had and will continue to keep. So, on that part, you confuse me with someone else.

oh wait, so you're a new member of this forum? I just want to get on the same page... I thought the other day you said something got deleted and you need to sign up again? Anyway, I would like to clear that up.... but calling you "mikey" is talking down to you... I don't know many adults that use the name, although it does go well with what I guess is either your middle name or your last name, so I understand, but of your 7 posts on this forum under this name... I think 4 if not 5 have been directed at me and correct me if I'm wrong, but you dissapproved of a post of mine and called me "winey" - so I don't really have a high regard for you and won't until I see some sort of effort on your part to contribute... that's how you earn my respect in here... if you don't want it, that's fine, but if you're going to post, either make it a good question or a halfway decent answer.....
This is a community and it's about giving as much as it is taking...... and this thread unforunately is off topic because you wanted to be a wise guy. The poster is not going to get anything further out of this thread so I suggest it be closed.. -
This thread really is quite useless...
