Comparision between G1 and F3J

What is the differences between G1 (£1,289.00) and F3Jp-AP041P (£999.00)?

Okay, I know the G1 is better, but I would like to know in detail (like screen differences, performance wise, build, etc) what the difference is. Why I am asking is, I can buy the F3J BRAND NEW on Nexus13.com for £999.00 OR one of my friends have 2nd hand G1 for also £999.00. It looks still brand new, but knowing it is 2nd hand puts me abit off.

 

Just to answer your question quickly, go for the G1, it better all around, except in weight and dimensions.

G1 - has a better screen, GPU is a go 7700 512mb, if you like nvidia this will also further sway your decision. If you like the looks of the G1, by all means go for it aswell, plus those flashing light might be of interest to you.

Quality wise the G1 is better than the F3JP, but results in more weight, but if you don't plan on moving it around a lot then that would be good too.

Have a look at your friends G1, if the condition of it is still good, like no scratches or anything, by all means get the G1, it is a great system, and you will love the screen, performance and quality, and at that price you pretty much can't go wrong.

Not to say the F3JP isn't a good machine, but in your position when both cost the same, I would definitely pick up the G1, in a heartbeat.

The F3JP is a more subtle look and feel to it, which may appeal to you, also the ATI graphics may also appeal to you more than nvidia.

 

But be wary of the inherent so-called "AudioDJ" problem of the F3J series. Go for the G1, better both in graphics performance and build quality wise, even if its used but in good condition.
