    Competitors to the z96j ?

    I'm looking to purchase the z96j pretty soon.. i think for me the important features are :

    the WSXGA+ glossy 15.1" screen
    ati x1600
    ability to customize for 7200rpm HD
    1.3M webcam

    is there any other laptop in the market with the same specs around the same price range ?

    compal hel80, i think the screen is matte and it has geforce 7600 which is very similar performance

    ah .. anything with a glossy ?

    i've also been wondering .. i've only used a matte screen before and my question is how do the glossy and the matte screens compare ? is it a personal preference thing ?

    Also the MSI 1039. ATI X1600 with a Turion, and an option for WSXGA.

    As an owner of a Z96J, I would highly recommend sticking with the Z96J. =)

    there's no other competitors with glossy screens..though one that hasn't been mentioned is the hp nc8430 w/ matte..i'd read up on the hp forum first though..apparently you can get some good deals that bring it down to z96j price levels

    wicked .. i'm checking out all those other notebooks but it seems like z96j is the only one with glossy

    The 1039 WXGA is glossy.... but not the WSXGA. I'm very happy with the Z96, I really don't think you would regret buying it.

    Oh, and glossy makes it look brighter, clearer, and move vivid. But when you use it outside, you see the trees, clouds, and the sun in your screen. But atleast your colors aren't washed out and you can't see anything when you are outside like on a matte screen.
