I'm looking at a UL30 laptop, Core 2 Duo is fine, and probably most economical. But there's so many version numbers, does anyone have a consolidated list somewhere that describes which is which?

And has anyone bought a refurb from meritline? They seem to have a good selection, unless someone knows where to get one new for <$500.

Found this on the UL30A, which I realize has IGP only no switchable.

But looking for the VT versions still which is looking for what I'd like. Largest battery would be preferable.

    edit: Ok figured out:

    UL30vt-A1 is silver/black with 5600mah battery
UL30vt-X1 is black with 4400mah battery
UL30vt-X1K is same as X1 but with Kindle.

Why is it they only offer the higher capacity battery with silver? That's stupid.

    That's a good question :)

The silver actually isn't that bad. I had the UL30VT-A1 loved it for it's amazing battery life. If you truly could not stand the silver color, there's various skins you could put on to disguise it. I ended up putting a faux white leather skin on my UL30VT and it looked pretty sleek.

I owned one of those Hannspree laptops before and sold it, and then regretted it. Was looking to replace it, but found another one for $300, similar specs as the UL30A - SU7300, 4GB DDR3, GMA4500MHD, 1366x768, except it's 12.1", and battery life is only about 5-6 hours. Just couldn't justify the extra $200+ for the UL30 as slick as it looks.
