    Connected, charging, but stuck at 37%

    Hey everyone!
    I saw this problem everywhere earlier, and now I tried almost everything, but couldn't find a solution.
    I have a ASUS X550L and my original battery just died after 2 years of usage a week ago. I bought a new one yesterday, but when I started using it, noticed, that it won't charge above 37%. I seriously doubt that my battery died after 1 day, but can't really fix it. Any suggestions?

    It's not common but definitely not heard of. Lots of variables can cause a battery to go bad from having a bad power source, a fault in the circuitry, or just plain bad luck.

    One thing you can try if you haven't is to plug it in elsewhere. As many places as you can. Eliminate the outlet as the problem, then the building if possible. If it works elsewhere then you know where your problem lies.

    Does BatteryInfoView show any charging current or is it zero?

    I would be tempted to fully drain the battery (you will need to do the last stage at the BIOS screen as windows will shut down / hibernate with several percent charge remaining) and then recharge in the hope that this resets the battery calibration.

    I did it, and managed to charge the battery up to 52%, so technically it worked, but it is stuck again there. Should I do it again to go higher, or is there a risk that it would stuck at a lower percent?

    I would do it again. If this process doesn't get the battery working properly then I suggest you contact the seller.

    +1 to that. Sounds almost like the battery is going bad if the reset didn't work fully the first time, the second time will confirm one way or another. I'd be prepared for a replacement. Unfortunately the battery and power bricks don't use the standard laptop warranty and are only typically carried for 6 months - 1 year. It's not unheard of for them to go bad after 2 years of use.
