Sorry if I am retreading an issue that was already resolved in the lounge, but I haven't visited it in a while since my S96J has been running BEAUTIFULLY since i received it. However I seem to be unable to use the VGA port to connect my laptop to my LCD TV. Has anyone else had a problem with this? It's not the TV (which is a toshiba if that matters) because it recognizes that a signal is coming in, it just never makes it: the screen will continually refresh but it returns to its home black screen directly afterwards. Using the S-video works, however i would much rather use the VGA, obviously. anyways, if anyone has an idea, it would be appreciated.
    Thanks..

Have you tried connecting it to powered off laptop (hibernation)?

ok i got it working, apparently it will only display in XGA. but thats not right, why can't it display in 1280 x 800 resolution which my laptop is outputting at? there are more than enough pixels on the LCD. has anyone been able to successfully do this? thanx again

I would be surprised if you TV has 1280x800, or if it does, if its in that format. I know that computers are common to that format, and thats the size for widescreen, but TVs sometimes have goofy sizes for pixels.
