    Hello All,
Nice forum and keep up the good work. I have a Z70VA and I am trying to connect my Canon Ultura camcorder via the firewire port and the notebook do not seem to detect the camcorder. I see the firewire port but when I go to the capture software I see the camcorder is greyed out. Can anybody guide me on the right directions on what am I missing.
    Thank you in advance,
    sailakfan

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I was on the road so was unable to check the forum. Canon does not have any drivers listed on their website and also I spoke to the support and they said I do not need any drivers. When I connect the camcorder to my desktop, it can see the camcorder just fine. The only difference is the desktop firewire card has a 6 pin port and on the z70va it has a 4 pin port, so I am using different cables. I have gone through 3 sets of new cables and still the problem exists.
    Thank you,
