I'm a bit annoyed as I can't find the way how to connect my asus a8sc to my TV.

I bought S-video to S-video and connected them to my laptop and TV. Now, I know that I need the audio cable for the sound, but that is not really important as of the moment as I just want to make the visual work before I go buy the other cable.

When I tried doing the connection, my television says 'no signal detected'. I go to the display setting but failed to find a secondary monitor. Now, I go to windows mobility center, click the 'connect display' in external display but nothing happens.

So what should I do to bring out the visual to my TV? Is there a need for me to download a software or something? I'm using Vista, btw.

    Hope someone could help me.

    Thanks.

Have you tried using the fn+other key shortcut?

By the shortcut Ayle means Fn+F8. Is that what you tried?

You may need to go into your control panel in windows. Then into the display section and from there setup a secondary monitor and choose to extend the desktop to that 2nd display or use clone mode.

From there you should have video going out to your tv, however s video is very limited in the quality and performance category. Its ok for simple things like watching a dvd quality movie or maybe a power point presentation but to use it as a actual display or anything it sucks.

My display setting shows only the default monitor (on Standard VGA Graphics Adapter). How do I make the secondary monitor appear?

The quality doesn't really matter as I only want to watch a couple of video and use for ppt presentation.

I also tried hitting the Fn+F8, which shows TV Only, LCD Only, LCD=TV... tried all of them but doesn't work.

I checked the number of pins in my connection, seems that the laptop requires 7pin, but I have 4pin to 4pin connection, does that causes the problem?

    please?

How do I make the secondary monitor appear?

It seems that the main problem is I cannot make the secondary monitor appear in my display setting.
