Hi just joined the forums and i also received my asus c90s. I'm at college and I dont plan on buying a TV so i was wondering if there is a way to hook up my ps2 to the lcd screen on my c90. I know that the s video and vga ports are out only so i was wondering if i can use the hdmi port somehow. And i also heard using a TV tuner makes things lag. Since i play alot of games that require precise timing (beatmania, guitar hero, etc) i decided that a tv tuner is a bad idea unless sum1 konws a good one with no lag. I also read something about the GameBridge thing as it promises no lag but im not sure if its 100% reliable. If you guys ever played beatmania iidx or DDR on high speeds, even a .1 or less second lag could be very fustrating. So i was wondering if i could get some advice on what to do.

Unfortunately all TV tuners have lag, Composite is an analog stream and it has to be converted to digital to be played, in most cases the lag is so minimal that it is near impossible to detect, I would recomend going with a ExpressCard tuner, as ExpressCard is significantly faster than PCMCIA or USB (480mbs vs 2.5Gbps)

The Gamebridge doesn't seem to have lag, but the only games I've played on it was Star Ocean III and Disgaea, both where lag isn't easily felt.

Though with the price of the Gamebridge nowadays, it may be worth the shot(or sell it afterwards, not many people know about it and would be really interested I would think.)

The game bridge is probably the best way to go. The lag in a TV tuner would most likely be associated with the time it takes the PC to process/render the stream with the powerhouse that is the c90, I think there would be no lag. However a TV tuner is more than what you need, I would only get one if it was internal (wich the c90 is supposed to have a spot for one if I am not mistaken)

On my desktop with its tv tuner, there is a good 2 second lag, and has more than enough power. I believe that the ones made for this should work nicely, but standard tv tuners would make it unplayable.

i have the e6750 (2.66ghz) with the 8600m gt. 2gb corsair ram. Some people have lag and other people dont o_O. I think on Guitar Hero 2 and Beatmania iidx (the newer versions) thers a way so you can change the settings by ms for people getting hdtv lag. I wonder if this will help at all. I do have the 34/54 express card slot but its more expensive than i thought and there arent many options. Although i got some reports that the gamebridge does lag for some people, the definition of lag might be different for some people. I mean when im playing beatmania and thers like 100 notes just dropping at 5x speed im gonna need super precision on timing to get GREATs on them all. D: maybe i should buy a tv but again im at college and i dont have that much money to spend. O yes and thanks for the replies. Anyone can recommend a tv tuner or confirm the gamebridge lag?

You might be better off using stepmania (PC version) than Beatmania, Its free, And you can buy a cheap PS2 - USB adaptor for under $5, For less lag intensive games just get the game bridge

isnt stepmania supposed to be like DDR and not beatmania. Beatmania iidx is the game were you use Turntable controller with 7 buttons. Since I have many versions of the game (they are all import) i wanted to be able to use them. I think ill check out the gamebridge and use the HDTV lag adjust settings.
