    Hey. I found a really nice notebook that I can use, which is the ASUS A8JS, 14" screen, GF7700 512mb, 1gb ram, crystal screen, etc.

    My question is, where can I get the CHEAPEST deal on that?

    newegg has it for $1600

    Anyone know a better place where I can get it (possibly w/ coupons)

    I noticed a few downsides which I'm willing to sacrifice: short battery life (expected from a 7700), no bluetooth (I don't use it anyways), and the dvd drive...I'm not sure, but is the dvd drive fixed to the bay?

    There is a listed MSRP for it, so you won't really find it cheaper anywhere, unless you haggle or they have some sort of sale.

    I dont know if thats going to help you though.

    their list price is 1569 so thats 30$ right there....

    Hey Stamar,
    You had said that it looked like they had made some improvemnets to the hinges on the A8js over the A8jm. Does it look like they have maybe fixed the problem with them loosing up? Do you have any pictures of the hinges to show us?
