Considering the F3SV, but need to ask some questions first.

    Hello :) ,
I've been looking for a laptop for quite a while cause im heading off to university next year (so ill need it to last 2-3 years) and also to replace my 3 year old desktop for gaming. I needed something that was could play all the new games at mid-high settings while still being portable and the F3SV caught my eye. But then i saw the inspiron 1520 and sorta leaned more towards that one instead since it had a better gpu for around the same price( both for around ~$1450CAD with similar specs except for the gpu). However i saw that the F3SV's gpu (8600GS) can be OC'ed to around the performance of the 8600GT in the 1520, i started to lean back towards the F3SV. However i still have some concerns about the F3SV that i need to be cleared up b4 i will go buy it.

My question is about the build quality of the F3SV. I've searched this forum and some people say that the F3SV is a budget notebook and has poor build quality which is a no no for me since ill be lugging it around campus and i need it for a couple years. However others have said that it has solid build quality. So i was wondering if any F3SV owners could tell me how long they think the F3SV would last in a school environment.

Anyways thanks in advance and srry for the long explanation and such.

People just state whatever they want without actually seeing or experiencing.

I actually OWN the F3sv, and can attest to a high build quality. It feels solid and strong, and the plastic feels made to last. I'd easily expect three to five years out of it, although I will probably get a new laptop before the F3sv dies out on its own.

If you are going to have any problems lugging it around, it's because it's not light like 12/13/14" notebooks.

I have the F3SV too. And the build quality is very very very good.

I hope it will last 4-5 years but I am sure it will definitely last 3! treat it well!
