Just got a Eee PC 900HA yesterday (xp version). One persistent nagging issue I'm having is that, whenever I log in, when I click on Start, it tells me "New programs installed". And the program that is highlighted in pale-yellow as the newly installed one is the ASUS Super Hybrid Engine. IS there a way to get rid of those notices other than uninstalling the SHE?

EDIT: The notice comes back after waking up from screen saver as well.

You can disable new program notice in task bar properties. Simply right click anywhere on the task bar (the bottom bar) that's empty, and select properties.

Then go to "start menu" tab, and hit "customize". You should be able to find an option to turn off the newly installed program notification.

Yep, right click anywhere on the Windows taskbar then choose Properties. Click the Start Menu tab at the top of the window then click customize. Scroll through the list of options and uncheck the box labeled "Highlight Newly Installed Programs"

Click OK in all open dialog boxes to save your settings. :)

Thanks. I disabled the notifications. But still, any idea why "ASUS Super Hybrid Engine" keeps on showing as a new program every time I logon or wake up from sleep mode?
