Is it possible to control the LCD brightness through Vista's Power Options?

I don't believe so. I don't see any options indicating that at least.

I disagree. When I used Vista, there WAS the possibility to set both the AC/battery mode brightness levels in Power options.

Most manufacturers use proprietary interfaces (such as the ATK utility) rather than the Vista LCD interface, so until support improves Vista cannot manage the LCD brightness.
