I bought this laptop in 2015, and only recently have I paid attention to the temps and cooling system.

The standard temp is between 50 to 60 C, and when I process video it goes up to '90s. I am not sure if it throttles or not.

So I researched on ways to lower those temps, and the thing does not look too promising. The cooling system relies on a pipe loop that goes through the CPU and GPU chips, aspiring air through the keyboard and a fan that cools the hot pipe down. It doesn't look too effective from what the lower temps are. You can't open a hole on the base to help cooling, as that would harm the top vacuum, and temps go up instead of down.

The only thing I thought of doing was changing the thermal paste and perhaps see if there is space to add perhaps a piece of copper to increase the cooling area.

Has someone else tried something different?
