Does anyone know if Asus plans on allowing users to run the Core 2 Duo chip in the S96J? Seeing as how it is a VBI machine, it seems as if the S96J would be the most likely candidate for the bios upgrade.

Asus might release S96Js with Core2 Duo later on, but you can do the upgrade yourself if you choose to buy it without Core 2 Duo.

Yes, once Asus comes out with a new BIOS, it should be compatable with Merom's.
