Hi, is it possible to upgrade from core duo to core 2 duo on ASUS A6Jc?? They only sell it with a Core Duo t2300 here where I live, I was thinking of buying it and THEN upgrade to core 2 duo later if possible. Does the I945PM chipset support core 2 duo? Need any bios update?? Anyone who knows?? IMPORTANT!

    thanks in advance

It should be possible since Core Duo and Core 2 Duo use the same chipset, but you would need a BIOS update from ASUS.

Just go to the Asus SUPPORT part of their website. Then go to DOWNLOAD and get to your notebook. Then there is a list of all recent software updates they posted which you can download. One of them is the Bios upgrade:
    BIOS Ver.219
    1.Update G73Mv VBIOS to V5.73.22.40.10.
    2.Support Merom CPU.
    3.Support Yonah Celeron M 440 CPU

Hope this helps making up your decision!
