    Hi,

Have anyone put a Core 2 duo into there A8jm? And if you did, do you have to do anything to your bios?

If you want to upgrade, then you may need a BIOS update. Asus should have a BIOS on their website, which supports the Core 2 Duo, but it best to check by looking at the changes made to the BIOS. Bear in mind, that if you don't use processor dependant applications, then there will be no performance increase. In games, the same is true, as games are graphically limited.

The only real difference, would be the added support of 64-bit. Applications that are 64-bit compatible will take quite a while to hit the consumer market, and theres little to no point in upgrading for that.

And so far, there isnt a bios update, and there probably will not be directly from asus (im guessing, given the time they COULD have came out with one)

I emailed Asus in Janurary about the issue, and their response was that they "eventually plan to release" this BIOS update.
