    Hello everyone!

I have a question regarding the processor speed of the Intel Core i5 and i7 in the ASUS G51Jx.

I have often come across laptops with Core i7 processors that have a significantly smaller frequency rating than Core i5 processors. This can be noted in the specs of the G51Jx here ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Notebooks - G51Jx.

My question is: would the G51Jx with the Core i7 really have a significant advantage over one with a Core i5 processor even though the i5 is noted to have a higher frequency rating? I plan on using its power for playing games.

Also, I noted Core i7s with turbo boost can reach higher frequencies than i5s when needed, but would this cause overheating when playing a game for several hours?

    Thanks in advance.

Unless you significantly OC your cpu, you don't have to worry aboutoverheating the Ci7. Turbo boost works fine with the latest games. Overheating the gpu on the other hand, is a critical issue with both the g51 and the g73.
Games that use multiple cores will work better with the i7 as well as multi-tasking being smoother.

Friends say true... overheating no lobe (sry for english ^^)
Core i7 will be more powerfull in multi-core games ... in games which use 1 or 2 cores he make up for frequency ... ;)
