    Hey
I ve received a few complaints from unhappy campers. All start with "i cant turn my bluetooth on, can you help me?". Here is some fiction
    1. F3j has bluetooth
    2. a8j has bluetooth
    3. a7j has bluetooth
The fact is none of those models have bluetooth. If you find a vendor that has it listed with bluetooth please correct them. They are copying the specs word for word from the asus website. Needless to say that is wrong too. If your asus prebuilt or built on model does not have a sticker on the bottom denoting an internal bt module then it does NOT have an internal bt module. I hope the frequent posters read this and keep in mind. I have seen countless times people make the mistake of thinking these models have bt. Its a little unfair to the newbies here that think they are getting what they paid for. Please note to all newbies these models in particular the a8j does NOt have bluetooth. it is possible a future revision may come with it but only time will tell. Now on a happy note. I have seen some people beg for vendors to outfit their ensembles or whitebooks with internal bluetooth around here. We now do that. FOr a price ofcourse :)

Well whoever sells them certainly should know better than to copy spec sheets blindly because if you list it without double checking, you're still responsible for it and it could be considered false advertising.... With that said, I think the only spec sheet in the last five years that has been correct from the get go was the W7j. Outside of that, there is ALWAYS something wrong and even when it's pointed out, it doesn't mean Asus will fix it. Taiwan still converts everything over to English and I swear the US office doesn't double check them. Asus will tell you and us and others it's not their fault or their problem.... but a consumer who was sold "bluetooth" and doesn't get it, certainly have a right to be pissed and Asus is going to say to them that they're not the ones who presented specs they agreed upon.

But I still see to this day A7j's sold "with bluetooth" and they model has been out since March or so without it.... I'm not concerned with the newbies so much as those who buy the systems and then don't use bluetooth for months or even a year or more and then find out they don't have it.

Its kind of funny becuase I was prompted by numerous customer complaints. One today was from a customer who wanted to return his unit claiming that he was under impression it came with bluetooth and he didnt want to pay restocking fee becuase asus advetised it as such. I responded to him with a link to our page which clearly does not offer bluetooth in the spec sheet infact it offers it as a 99$ option in bold letters all the way on top. :(

That's another story all together..... I've heard of that from forum members and sales have seen that with customers.... We try to cut them off before even buying it - if they call questioning it....... Saying either one places advertises they have the model with this or that.... or Asus' site claims it..... and we need to correct them and either they believe us or they find out the hard way from someone else. What you're saying is really the opposite of what I said other dealers may run into because you could sell a notebook however you want to. Back when the ensembles came with mice and carrying cases.... not that it's all that cool of a thing to do, but if you sell the model and specifically say that doesn't come with it, then they can't expect it. Although that's more along the lines of those scummy nyc camera shops that sell you a camera for a steal but then take out the power supply and battery and charge you an arm and a leg for those after the fact..... The fact is Asus could say a notebook comes with 10gb of ram and as long as the product they bought from you says 1gb and that's what you shipped them - it's their own stupidity... It's not like you're screwing them, it's that they didn't know what was right and what was wrong and obviously missed what you stated on your site as well. Asus' site can state "up to" a certain cpu or ram or hard drive, but that doesn't mean that's how the US ordered it.

I've gotten on Asus for a lot of their BS on their site, but they continue to say they don't control it, taiwan does.. I just think if they want to attached the "US site" to the title of it, they should know what the hell the US has and no better way to do that than an English speaking US employee... don't you think?! :)

If anything, I'd tell them to call Asus and complain - although we both know that would get no where....... even if you complained to Asus and told them your customer believed this was in there because of their site, it's unlikely to make them help out.

In defense of taiwan they do list bt as an OPTION. So yes Ithink its deceptive but they have their bases covered.

Yeah this is rather interesting as when i decided to drop my A6km for a Z92u I looked at the one we had on display and it has bluetooth on it and showed up in the device manager. Now that I bought one and took it home (from the same batch) it does NOT have BT. I swapped that notebook over because of costant random shutdows, the new one i swapped to from a different batch of notebooks also doesn't have BT.

    very interesting...

so no BT on Z92M in New Zealand - just as advertised though...
they also advertised it to have infrared and parallel port, which it does NOT have. its got a 'black' over where it should be :( ! not too impressed really because i have no BT and no infrared to use my SE 750i for internet when on the road.

EDIT** just saw that the title was to do with esembles. sorry.

There are tons of options......... BTO Taiwan options such as bluetooth, RF, different screens and resolutions, chassis color, etc.... Taiwan isn't to "blame", but where they are to blame is in their control over their website. It's one thing to have creative control and it's another to have complete control over specifics which you really aren't shouldn't be.
